If as a salesperson, you enjoy actively creating opportunities by engaging with clients and innovatively solving their needs, then a role at Riskcare will provide an opportunity for you to stand out and contribute to the creation of an ecosystem in which our senior consultants can flourish.

Riskcare’s outsourcing and consulting business is centred around the unique sales experience we create. We solve business problems by placing our Subject Matter Experts in front of business stakeholders that are experiencing business challenges, and together they brainstorm a solution that draws upon all of our competencies.

Our business development team creates this experience – building relationships and understanding the general demands our clients are facing, such that we can orchestrate engaging and value-generating business meetings with them.

The Business Development Executive (BDE) role is to create and manage these meetings, enabling new clients to understand how we can help them across the analysis and implementation lifecycle. Our sales process has been established to:

  • Introduce our business to clients within the context of their institution, financial sector and function.
  • Develop client needs with senior consultants leveraging ‘SPIN’ and broader creative techniques.
  • Match our bespoke quantitative, technology and business process re-engineering services to fulfilling client needs.

We operate a full-cycle sales process – from initial contact to proposing and negotiation, through to closing and onwards for renewals. The BDE therefore has control over every tiny aspect and the effect created from the clients’ perspective is seamless.

Please send your CV and a letter outlining your aspirations and motivations for applying for a position with Riskcare.

The BDE role is to develop new accounts outside of our core house accounts and is suitable for someone that is more ‘hunter’ than ‘farmer’ in nature.

The BDE should maintain trusting client relationships, so that they are the preferred person for all commercial dialogues and are on-hand to liaise with our Production department for all delivery dialogues. We are looking for someone who can stimulate demand and innovation in an atmosphere of trust.

The BDE will report into the London Sales Manager (CEO) for all day-to-day execution matters and also into the CFO for forecasting. They will pull SMEs into sales dialogues from our Production department for the purpose of developing our client’s needs, as well as Opportunity Leaders for developing proposals.

The BDE is expected to create one sales ‘pitch’ meeting per day during normal business cycles (i.e. where we are not actively proposing) – a meeting where they are intending to engage with a client to such an extent that they can identify a need with a client. In addition, there will be the usual range of networking and follow-up qualification meetings that are part-and-parcel of owning the full sales lifecycle.

Skills and qualities

We are looking for energetic and personable sales professionals, experienced in selling into financial institutions. A conceptual understanding of different asset classes and risks is important, but a detailed knowledge of financial products or analytics is not required – it is important to understand the concepts and the purposes of these, rather than the actualité.

Good teamwork skills are essential both among our sales team – in assembling virtual teams for proposing and bidding – and with our clients. Candidates need to be self-starting and capable of performing cold calls and chairing meetings, as well as martialling the construction and submission of proposals and strong closing skills.

Experience

Three to five years of selling services, products or data within or to capital markets players.
